The Little Dumbbell Nebula
Constellation: Perseus
Discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1780, and added to Messier’s catalogue.   it wasn’t recognized as a planetary nebula until Herber Curtis did so in 1891. Now it is classified as a bipolar planetary nebula (nebula with a medical condition).  
This nebula is approx 2,500 light-years from us and considered one of the faintest of Messier’s list.   Mr. Voss, our astronomer, says I cannot say it has a medical condition……
